times. The Greek sculpter Phidias, built the statue in 430 B.C.
Zeus is the Greek "king of all gods". He lives in the clouds of
the highest mountain in Greece,Mt.Olympus. Zeus was worshiped
by everyone. Even today at the Olympic Games, people do magnificant
sacrafice to Zeus. The statue was about 43 feet high. Zeus was sitting
on a throne in a robe made out of gold, and his flesh was made from ivory.
In his left hand was a scepter and in the right, was a figure of Nike, the goddess of victory.
The statue was taken to Constantinople in A.D.391 and was destroyed in a fire in A.D
